Keep driving license, documents at home with this app
Motorists can now show their papers on their smart phones to the police during checking. A mobile application offering a simple and efficient single-screen display for important vehicle-related documents were launched on Wednesday in Hyderabad.
Titled ‘RTA m-Wallet’, it helps motorists avoid physically carrying documents like driving license, registration certification and other vehicle related papers.
The App enables owners and drivers of vehicles to store their documents issued by the Transport Department in digital form, relieving the citizens from carrying physical documents and preventing from loss or misplacement, an official release said.
Motorists can show ‘RTA m-Wallet’ on their smart phones to the police or Road Transport Authority (RTA) authorities during check-in.
The digital wallet for all transport-related documents will be available on Android and IOS platforms, it said.
Telangana Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao and Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy launched the app at the Secretariat in Hyderabad.
‘RTA m-Wallet’ also offers options to add multiple vehicles owned by an individual. The documents once downloaded on the application will be saved permanently, the release said.
